We appreciate that from time to time you may find yourself struggling to stay in control of your finances or simply worried about not having enough money. We also appreciate that this may be embarrassing for you to speak with us about, however it is really important that you do so to enable us to work with you and find solutions.
If you are struggling to meet your bills, pay for daily necessities and don’t know where to turn for help and guidance, please don’t let the situation get any worse - visit us (e.g. your branch (opens in a new window), Financial Solutions Centre or call us direct) and talk to us and let us help you get your life back on track.
Alternatively, there are a number of organisations that provide free and impartial debt advice & guidance, many of which are listed below. You can talk to them about your financial concerns in complete confidence. Please be aware that there are many similar commercial organisations that will charge you for this service.

Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS)
This is a registered charity that offers free and impartial advice. It is totally confidential, and supports anyone who needs advice and guidance to help them take control of their finances.

Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB)
The CAB offers free face-to-face assistance to people with severe financial difficulties through their network of local offices. You can get the telephone number of your local bureau from The Phone Book, the local library or from the website:

National Debtline

Money Advice Scotland

Advice UK

Financial Services Authority (FSA)
This is a government organisation which was set up to provide impartial help and guidance to consumers on all money related matters. They provide a ‘money made clear’ (opens in a new window) facility that includes help on managing money, a budget calculator and money saving tips.
British Bankers Association
The BBA is the leading association for the UK banking and financial services sector. The British Bankers Association website (opens in a new window) includes a section dedicated to ‘coping with financial difficulties’.
