Why should I choose a Fixed Term investment?
A fixed return during the investment term lets you plan your finances with certainty. You have confidence that your Deposit is safe and working hard for you.
Can I withdraw the funds at any time?
Withdrawals or early closure of the Term Deposit are not permitted under any circumstances during the Fixed Term except in the event of the death of the Account Holder (or one of them if joint account). See Terms and Conditions of the account for further information.
How will I know when the Deposit has been opened and the date that it will mature?
On receipt of your Application Form, identification, Cleared funds and any other requirements, a Certificate will be sent to your home address. The Certificate will provide details of your full name, account number, the Deposit, the term, the rate of interest paid and the Commencement and Maturity Dates.
Can I hand the Application Form in to a branch?
Only to be forwarded to your Private Partner. The branch cannot process these applications as the offer is strictly limited to Private customers. You may also be required to visit a branch if identification is required (ask your Private Partner for advice if unsure whether this is necessary or not).
What happens if there are insufficient funds in my account when the Application Form is received?
Unless your Private Partner is aware of the date when Cleared funds will be available, they will attempt to contact you to discuss the position. We can only process Deposits at the term and rate on the Application Form when the completed Application Form, supporting documents and Cleared funds are in our hands within 5 Business Days of the rate’s last advertisement on the web page. The Bank will not be responsible for items posted that are not received within the required time.
If you are sending a cheque with your Application Form then the application will not be processed until the cheque is Cleared, approximately 2 - 3 Business Days after being lodged to your account. Please bear this in mind when calculating the 5 Business Days mentioned above.
Should you be unsure of this process, please contact your Private Partner.
Can I send in a cheque with my Application Form drawn on a 3rd party Bank / Building Society?
Yes you can, however your Application Form will not be processed until the funds are Cleared. Therefore the term and rate you have chosen may not be available at that time. You will be contacted by your Private Partner if this is ever an issue.
What are my other long term investment options?
Should you wish to deposit funds for a longer period of time than those offered via this channel, simply call your Private Partner who will be able to offer you a number of options from our Savings and Investment range.
What are some of the alternatives?
Whilst we believe that the offers via the Private Term Deposit web pages are very attractive, you may have other needs which require shorter term instant access, tax efficient or even regular savings solutions. Therefore, your Private Partner can help in identifying your goals and mapping out the appropriate action to help you achieve these objectives.
What happens when my Deposit matures?
You will received a maturity options pack 35 days before maturity and your Private Partner will be in touch following the issue of this pack. We will require confirmation of your maturity options 5 days prior to the maturity date.
