Apply for a UK Bank Account
What you need to do
If you are not yet located in the UK you can use the following information and application form to open a UK bank account before you arrive in the country.
What information do I need before I apply?
- The address where you will be staying on your arrival in the UK (if available)
- Your overseas address
- Your current contact telephone number, mailing address and email address
- Your current passport details
- Visa type to be used to enter the UK
What happens next?
Complete and submit the online application, which takes approximately 10 minutes. A confirmation page will be displayed confirming your application has been processed and you will be provided with a unique application reference number.
Once you have your account number you can transfer money straight into your account. Please note that you will not be able to access any funds deposited in the account until you have arrived in the UK and completed the identification formalities as required by UK anti money laundering regulations. We will be unable to accept cheques or cash for credit to your account until the identification formalities have been completed and until this time funds should be forwarded by Telegraphic Transfer.
