Do I have to be a Clydesdale Bank customer?
Yes, only existing Clydesdale Bank customers can apply online for a Personal Loan via the website as you will need to make payments from a Clydesdale Bank Account. If you do not currently hold an account with us but would like to apply for a Personal Loan, please visit your nearest branch (opens in a new window).
How much can I borrow?
With a Personal Loan, you can borrow between £1,000 and £25,000.
How long can I have to repay the Personal Loan?
As part of our flexible approach to banking, we can give you a choice as to how quickly you pay back the loan, making sure it is over a period you feel comfortable with. It can vary from a minimum of one year right up to seven years, depending on your chosen loan amount and your loan purpose.
Is my online application safe?
When you send us an online application, it is sent over a secure connection. This means your personal information is encrypted to help prevent it being accessed by anyone except us.
How quickly can I find out if my online application has been successful?
We can usually let you know within one working day.
What happens to my online application when I submit it?
Once you submit an online application form, we will then process it and reply to you with a decision by telephone. If successful, we will send you the relevant documents which you then sign and return along with any supporting documentation if required (e.g. wage slips). When we have received these, the money is paid into your account.
Telephone opening hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Friday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. For your security, calls may be recorded or monitored.
