Cover that helps keep you safe

It's important to ensure you're covered when travelling both in the UK and abroad, so Clydesdale Bank can introduce you to AIG Europe Ltd which can provide travel insurance which will take care of many circumstances when you're on the move.

You can benefit from cover which includes the following*

An excess of £50 per person per incident may apply.

  • Single trips or annual multi-trips
  • UK, European and world travel. Excluding certain areas.*
  • Emergency medical expenses for UK and abroad up to £10,000,000.
  • Loss of travel and accommodation expenses following cancellation of your trip up to £5,000
  • Loss, theft or damage to your valuables and baggage up to £1,500. Limit for any single article or pair or set of items - £300. Valuables and electronic/other equipment limit - £500. Thefts from unattended vehicles - £100 per person.
  • Loss or theft of your travel documents and passports up to £200.
  • Loss or theft of your cash and travellers cheques up to £500. Cash limit - £200. Cash limit if aged under 18 - £50.

In addition, there are optional upgrades to cover winter sports and business travel. Extra costs may apply.

* Applicants must be UK based and under 75 years of age. Certain exclusions may apply, including claims due to undisclosed medical conditions which were known about prior to taking on the policy or booking travel, whichever is later. Cover is not provided for travel to or through Cuba, Iran, Syria, Sudan, North Korea, the Crimea Region or areas where the Foreign and Commonwealth Office have advised against all but essential travel. Ryanair and Monarch Airlines

Following the recent announcements regarding cancelled Ryanair flights and the Monarch Airline liquidation, we have been in dialogue with our Travel Insurance provider, AIG Europe Limited (“AIG”).

AIG will ask anyone who has been affected by the cancellation of a Ryanair or Monarch flight to contact Ryanair or Monarch as appropriate regarding all losses incurred in the first instance in accordance with the ‘Travel Delays’ section of their policy, and the recommendations of the ABI.

For flights booked with Ryanair, EU flight compensation regulations require airlines to provide compensation to passengers for cancellations. AIG would expect Ryanair to compensate customers in accordance with its obligations under those regulations. Where pre-paid costs such as accommodation are not refunded through these channels, customers may raise a claim with AIG.

For Monarch Airlines bookings, contact should be made with Monarch Airlines, the booking company or the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) for assistance in the first instance.
