Safe online shopping
Shop safely with MasterCard SecureCode
We want you to be safe when you use your Clydesdale Bank
credit card for online shopping. That’s why your Clydesdale Bank
card is protected by MasterCard SecureCode
MasterCard credit cards use the latest chip and PIN technologies to combat the fraudsters. For online purchases, MasterCard SecureCode improves your security even more. Using a personal password, known only to you, it lets you identify yourself as the owner of the card and stops anyone else using your card online.

Why should I register my card?
Everyone should be able to shop online with confidence and this free service provides the extra security you need to do just that.
Can I register a joint card holder?
Yes. A joint card holder can also register for their own MasterCard SecureCode using their own card.
Where can I shop once I’m registered?
The majority of online retailers now offer the added security of SecureCode. You can still use your card with non-participating retailers – but you won’t have this extra level of security.
What happens if I haven’t registered?
To make sure all online transactions are secure, you’ll always be asked for your SecureCode when you use your MasterCard at a participating retailer. If you haven’t registered, you can still register at the checkout of the retailer. If you choose not to register, your transaction may be declined.
What are the system requirements for SecureCode?
MasterCard SecureCode works with most internet browsers, but software that prevents pop-up windows may interfere with your use of SecureCode.
