The future looks bright for Inverness opticians

An Inverness-based optician has opened its doors to the public after securing funding support from Clydesdale Bank.

Hall & Fraser opticians offers its customers eye tests as well as selling glasses, contact lenses and other eyewear accessories.

Funding to purchase the business was provided by Clydesdale Bank’s Business Direct team in a deal facilitated by Business Development Manager, Chris Rennie.

Both Charles Hall and Callum Fraser bring years of experience running opticians to their latest venture. Callum has a practice in Beauly and Charles has practices in the north east of England, but will be practicing from Inverness full time.

The business now employs two full time and one part time member of staff.

As well as in-store check-ups and eye examinations, Hall & Fraser also provides a home visit and domiciliary eye testing facility for the local elderly community.

Co-founder Charles Hall, said: “Callum and I have worked together for years and we’re both very happy to have the opportunity to open an opticians on Inverness’ busy Church Street.

“Clydesdale Bank’s funding and support has been invaluable throughout the process of taking on the business.

“We still run a number of other opticians across the country and we’re looking to expand further in the long term.”
