Growing businesses gather at Lamport Hall

3rd June 2015

Some of Midlands leading businesses came together at historic Lamport Hall in Northamptonshire, this week, at an event to celebrate business growth.

Organised by Clydesdale Bank as part of its Business Week, the networking event brought together a range of businesses to celebrate their recent growth achievements. The event took place in the prestigious setting of the Grade I Listed manor which is more than 450 years old.

Ten business leaders from a range of industries including hospitality, agriculture, construction and warehousing and logistics enjoyed lunch before hearing from senior bank staff.

Brian Colquhoun, regional director at Clydesdale Bank and Simon Wright, head of strategy and operations at Clydesdale Bank, congratulated guests on their recent growth achievements.

Rob Facer, Director of Barnack UK Ltd, was praised for completely filling his storage unit in Peterborough due to increased business activity. Yorkshire Bank provided funding for Rob to purchase and extend the premises.

Guests also heard from George Drye, Executive Director of the Lamport Hall Preservation Trust, on the history of the site. George is a customer of the Bank and has been a member of the Trust for nearly 30 years. He has carried out extensive restorations, helping to transform the home into its current grand state.

Brian Colquhoun, regional director at Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks, commented “Our guests today have shown true ambition which has led to a number of impressive successes we felt needed to be recognised. Celebrating in this beautiful setting was a fantastic experience and we are very thankful to the Trust for hosting us at Lamport Hall.

“Events like this give us the chance to connect with our customers and ensure we are doing everything in our power to help them continue reaching their aspirations.”

Business Week runs from 11th–15th May and sees more than 250 customer-focused events staged at the Bank’s UK-wide network of Business and Private Banking Centres, including a number of high profile events in the Midlands area.

As growth and confidence continue to emerge in the UK economy, Business Week aims to help businesses build for the future.
