Tom Vosa presents seminar at The Queensberry Hotel

Members of the Bath business community had the opportunity to quiz Clydesdale Bank’s top economist on the current economic climate on a visit to Bath.

Tom Vosa, Chief Economist for Clydesdale Bank, presented a lunchtime seminar at The Queensberry Hotel, in Bath on Tuesday 3rd March.  The seminar outlined how the current economic climate is affecting local businesses.

Speaking about the event, Brian Tooker, senior partner at Clydesdale Bank’s Bath FSC said; “Tom’s visit to Bath gave local businesses and clients the chance to find out about the economic climate from a top UK economist. This event sparked a large amount of interest because it gives business owners the chance to see how Bath and the South West are being affected.”

Laurence Beere, proprietor of The Queensberry Hotel and Olive Tree Restaurant in Bath said; “Tom Vosa’s presentation gave a good account of the economic outlook for us here in Bath. It provided a valuable insight for our business and the challenges and opportunities we face in the coming months.”

The presentation covered a range of economic issues such as looking at how corporate balance sheets may be better placed to withstand the downturn than in previous recessions and how the drivers of employment are changing.
