Clydesdale Bank’s Jack Ogston To Retire

8th May 2009

Jack Ogston, Clydesdale Bank’s veteran business banker, is to retire from his role as Head of Corporate & Structured Finance, Scotland.

Following 35 years service with the bank, Jack will leave his full-time position this summer to take up a new part-time ambassadorial role for the company in Scotland, as well as other external advisory roles.

David Thorburn, Clydesdale Bank’s Chief Operating Officer, commented:

“Jack is one of Scotland’s most high profile and respected corporate bankers with a fantastic knowledge and network across the business community in Scotland.  I am delighted that we have been able to create this new role which will see Jack focusing on developing new business opportunities for the Bank.”

A high profile series of business and finance networking events and briefings hosted by Clydesdale Bank will continue this year under Jack’s leadership.

In 2008, Jack was named ‘Banker of the Year’ by Business Insider magazine at their annual Deal & Dealmaker awards for his work in the area of corporate banking and acquisition finance.

Clydesdale Bank plans to fill the role of Head of Corporate & Structured Finance Scotland with an internal candidate.
