Recruitment firm expands into Russia

Recruitment specialist the FiveTen Group has acquired the Russian subsidiary of Antal International, the market leader in executive recruitment in Russia, with backing from Clydesdale Bank.

It is the sixth deal for FiveTen Group in the last 18 months and its first significant acquisition in Russia.

"We are delighted with Antal Russia joining the FiveTen Group, they are a superb business that operates in several specialist sectors in Russia and dominates most of them," said Richard Mead, chairman of the FiveTen Group.

He said Antal Russia shared synergies with FiveTen’s legal arm Laurence Simons, its IT arm Greythorn and finance operation WH Marks Sattin. As the leading sales and marketing recruiter in Russia, it also fitted well with EMR, a UK business the group acquired a few weeks previously.

The newly enlarged FiveTen Group has approximately 520 recruitment consultants operating from 28 offices in 12 countries.

Paul Marshall of Clydesdale Bank said: “The acquisition will help facilitate FiveTen’s expansion into Russia which is considered to be one of the most exciting and dynamic markets in the world.”
