Clydesdale Bank proud of Partnership with Port of Peterhead

15/02/07

Clydesdale Bank's Financial Solutions Centre (FSC) in Aberdeen manages Peterhead Port Authority's banking and strategic finances. The bank's association with the harbour's trustees stretches back to the original Harbour Trust's inception in the late 1800s and it is a relationship that remains strong.

Robert Brechin, senior partner at the bank's Aberdeen FSC, says: "The formation of the new Port Authority last year was a very important development for Peterhead. It has enabled the town and the surrounding area to maximise the potential of a port that retains a significant influence on the overall economic performance of Scotland's north east.

"We were convinced at the time that the new single management structure led by John Wallace would deliver great success in the future. Considering that record levels of fish-related business in excess of £100m were witnessed last year, this confidence looks to have been well-placed.

"We are very proud of our longstanding partnership with the port of Peterhead and remain absolutely committed to helping ensure future success for the economy in Peterhead and, indeed, the north east of Scotland more generally."
