Clydesdale Bank doubles acquisition finance deals

25/05/07

The specialist & acquisition finance (SAF) arm of Clydesdale Bank and its sister Yorkshire Bank has reported the completion of 71 deals worth £290m in the six months to March 2007, more than double the 32 deals completed in the same period last year.

As a direct result of this increase in business the operation, led by head of specialist & acquisition finance, Richard Kennerley, also doubled the size of its team to 65.

Kennerley is supported by five regional directors who manage teams in Scotland, Yorkshire & North East, North West, Midlands and London & South.

The SAF specialists work closely with the business banking teams in Clydesdale and Yorkshire Bank's network of Financial Solutions Centres, giving clients a fully integrated service.

"We are increasingly becoming the dealmaker of choice for the owner-managed business. Our local approach ensures we are best placed to truly understand our clients' business and make fast, considered decisions," said Richard Kennerley.

"We have seen growth across a wide range of sectors and industries. Our approach is completely relationship driven and long term. Accordingly, we are able to structure deals to meet the needs and aspirations of management teams, their sponsors and advisers."
