Bank Pledges £200 Million to Fund Local Businesses

Clydesdale Bank has pledged its support to Peterborough’s regeneration drive by earmarking £200 million to fund projects that will help investment and regeneration in the city.

With a £1bn Government regeneration programme, plans to build 25,000 new homes and an expected 20,000 new jobs to be created in the region over the next 20 years, Peterborough is set to become a hub for businesses in East Anglia – which is already one of the fastest growing economies in the UK.

Dylan Ashpole, Managing Partner at Clydesdale Bank’s Financial Solutions Centre (FSC) said, “Peterborough’s active business community can only be boosted by the new regeneration drive and Clydesdale Bank will play an integral part in helping to make the city even better than it already is – by helping more local businesses to grow and to attract more companies to the city by providing funding to projects that bring real value to the area.

“We’re 100 per cent committed to enabling business success and helping Peterborough achieve its full potential.  As one of the largest banking teams in the city, it’s imperative that we know what local businesses want.
Clydesdale Bank has the experience and expertise to help local businesses take advantage of the opportunities available to them – and we have the funding for those who are confident that their business is ready for the challenge.”

Lord Brian Mawhinney, Chairman of the Peterborough FSC added:

“I’m excited at the prospect of Peterborough benefiting from our fresh attitude to deal making, and this commitment to supporting local businesses and making banking decisions locally is exactly what our business community needs.”
