22/01/07

Aberdeen born John Brebner has returned to his banking roots with his appointment as managing partner of the city's Clydesdale Bank Financial Solutions Centre (FSC).

In the 25 years since taking up his first post in the bank's George Street branch, the former Bridge of Don Academy pupil has held a number of positions across the bank's Scottish operations.

The 41-year-old father-of-three is returning to his home city after 12 years in Glasgow , where he worked for the Clydesdale's corporate banking division, most recently as a senior partner within the Glasgow FSC.

John will lead a team of over 40 partners and banking specialists from new purpose-built offices in Carden Place. Commenting on his appointment, John says: "I am delighted to be returning home and look forward to renewing my relationship with the city and its business people and to building on the terrific impact the FSC has already made on the business scene since its launch in 2005."

Before moving south, John held a series of roles in the George Street , Mile End and West End branches before transferring into corporate banking in 1990. He left for Glasgow in 1994 to take up a post as a credit manager at the bank's head office in the city.

The Aberdeen FSC provides integrated banking services to businesses and high-net-worth individuals across the city and surrounding area.
