£5M funding set Kelvin KBB up for growth

A multimillion pound funding package from Clydesdale Bank will help Scotland's largest kitchen manufacturer, Kelvin Kitchens, Bedrooms & Bathrooms (Kelvin KBB), realise its growth plans and move to a new state-of-the-art energy efficient premises in Cumbernauld.

Established in 1986, Kelvin KBB which employs more than 300 staff in the Glasgow area, produces and supplies quality kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms to leading house builders such as Cala, Muir and Gladedale.

Kelvin KBB's new 106k sq ft facility uses the waste generated from production to heat the premises, and having both factory and office staff housed in the same building will increase production and ensure a more streamlined operation.

Craig Allison, a business partner at Clydesdale Bank's Glasgow FSC said: "Kelvin KBB has grown rapidly over the last few years and has been planning this move for some time. Having been a partner of the company for over 20 years we are delighted to be able to help them realise their goal.

"Supporting local indigenous businesses - from nurturing and supporting their ambitions, to raising finance and helping them to meet growth plans - is something that Clydesdale Bank is fully committed to, and we recognise the value that partnering businesses like Kelvin KBB brings to the local area."

Richard Lanni, Kelvin's managing director said: "Prior to the move, we had been operating out of several different buildings which was detrimental to our day to day operations and future growth plans. These new facilities provide us with greater efficiencies and production capability, ensuring we are well placed to grow our future profitability and market share."
