New appointments boost Clydesdale Bank's Specialist & Acquisition Finance Team
Clydesdale Bank today announced three new appointments to support the growth of its specialist & acquisition finance team for London and the south of England.
Minesh Patel, Alan Davis and Nick Newton all join the team as directors, specialist & acquisition finance. All of them will report to Andrew Merrifield, regional director, specialist & acquisition finance.
The new recruits will enhance an existing team who identify and develop new business opportunities within the corporate finance community in London and the south of England. They specialise in management buy-outs and buy-ins, business acquisitions, share buybacks and specialist property transactions. They will also work closely with Clydesdale Bank's 36 Financial Solutions Centres (FSCs) located in London and the south of England.
The continued growth of the specialist & acquisition finance team consolidates Clydesdale Bank's push into this sector and illustrates its desire to offer fully integrated financial solutions to both existing and prospective customers.
Minesh brings with him over 10 years of experience of corporate finance within accounting firms where he has advised on MBOs and MBIs, as well as preparing business plans and financial models to source debt and equity funding. He has worked in a financial modelling consultancy for five years and has also spent three years in the Middle East as an investment analyst.
Alan joined Clydesdale Bank in 2003 as senior partner at the Reading Financial Solutions Centre, and previously had worked at Barclays for over 20 years where he held various roles in corporate banking at Head Office, Regional Office and branch levels
Nick has spent the last two years as a corporate relationship manager with Clydesdale Bank in London's West End, where he assisted business clients on a variety of transactions. Nick started his career with Barclays International and worked for the Barclays Group for over 20 years, most recently as associate director, Larger Business (Barclays Capital) and as corporate manager, Medium Business. His previous experience also includes three years working offshore in Guernsey.
The new recruits will add strength to Clydesdale Bank's specialist & acquisition finance team in assisting businesses looking for advice and funding for corporate acquisitions. By offering a bespoke, fully intergrated, finance package to its customers, who are referred to as members, the bank aims to attract significant levels of new business at a key time in the banks's development.
Minesh Patel comments: "Having worked on advisory and corporate sides of aquisition finance deals, I relish the opportunity to work on transactions from the bank side. I look forward to working within the specilist & acquisition finance team and winning new business for Clydesdale Bank. The fact we have an integrated finance solution will help us compete and win acquisition deals."

By working alongside our partners in the Financial Solutions Centres we are able to deliver a truly integrated financial solution locally, which is what my clients over the last few years have been saying is important to them."
Nick Newton comments: "The opportunity to join the successful and fast growing specialist & acquisition finance team was far too good to miss and I am delighted to be on board. I am impressed by Clydesdale Bank's forward thinking and open culture, which places a strong focus on the client and getting the deal done by delivering first class banking solutions. As a result we continue to grow our business and I am pleased to be part of a truly integrated financial proposition."
