Insurance Banking Specialist Joins Clydesdale

Clydesdale Bank has appointed John Holm as director in its Corporate & Structured Finance team in London.

John was previously director of insurance, Europe for Clydesdale’s parent National Australia Bank. In his new role his main focus will be to help to develop relationships with mid market insurance businesses.

As a career banker, John has over 30 years’ experience working with RBS in its international division and the City of London office before moving to the corporate banking arm where he specialised in the insurance industry. He was particularly involved with mergers and acquisitions involving brokers, underwriters, closed life, closed non life and P&I managers. He joined National Australia Bank in 2008.

Andrew Merrifield, regional director for Clydesdale’s Corporate & Structured Finance team in London, said: “John has a wealth of banking expertise and is well known in the world of insurance. His appointment will bring added strength to the team, which is already a key player in financing mid-market deals, and will help us to build our client base in the insurance sector.”
